I always have trouble picking prog bands for the later slots. From a drawing power perspective, hasn't power metal opened up a big lead over prog since the festival started?

Ha ha! So I would not have to pay for a ticket! I go for the company, for the most part, not the bands. On my list, I like Lost in Thought, Triosphere, Cynthesis, Pretty Maids, and Symphony X, so it would be a better lineup than many for me. That said, seeing any of those bands would not be a big deal for me like seeing Sanctuary is.

Now if Glenn pulled another Paradox moment and booked Anacrusis or Artillery or WatchTower, I would be thrilled. Note that I did not list any of those bands in my contest submission. I am not stupid.

Well, I was thinking: we've had the bands like Turisas/Blackguard booked. This year its While Heaven Wept. Thats why I went with something like Novembers Doom and some thrash bands.. especially if Paradox was to play last year. I just have no idea who to expect for headliners so thats why I just put Nightwish mainly just because we haven't seen them with the new singer yet (and I hadn't heard of PPUSA yet when they played before)

Cynic is doing pretty well too, which is why I'm confused by having them as the second band on Friday.

I would of asked for Porcupine Tree (<3) but I'm not sure how they'd fit into a slot.. keep in mind their last two albums have gotten heavier.

Honestly, I think they're too big for the fest. They tend to sellout wherever they go nowadays.
