(Oops, lousy spelling in the title, can't fix it now!)

I stumbled across this by accident in the channel guide last week, then saw a commercial during Battlestar Galactica over the weekend. There is a made-for-TV movie version of Hogfather floating around (made in 2006).

It has gotten a good rating at IMDB:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0765458/

If you search your own channel guide, maybe you'll be able to catch it soon. It was on some channel called ION in the local section of our Chicago area DirecTV, maybe they'll repeat it.

Ken

I heard about this last year. There are some commercials for it that have made it to YouTube. I'm not impressed with Death's voice, but I think it'd be rather difficult to mimic a voice that is like "The sound of church bells tolling" or "Ancient timbers creaking." :D

I'm waiting for it to come out on DVD.

It's been floating around on torrent sites for a long time. We don't get the cool BBC produced stuff in the US, so I don't know how else you could see it.

It came out in America 11-13-07. Borders has it exclusively until March i believe. It's on sale for 16.99 right now. It was originally a made for T.V. two-parter made for Skyone T.V. in Great Britain.

It looks like The Mob and SkyOne's excellent adaptation of Hogfather
is finally coming to US television.

Hogfather will make its US premiere on ION Television at 7/6c on
Sunday November 25th.

I understand that ION might not be that well known a channel - I've
spoken to a couple of people that didn't realise they could already
receive it.

Ugh, that's awful news...but you have to admire how he takes it in stride. Its true that we're all headed to the same place sooner or later.

I know it's a very human thing to say "Is there anything I can do", but in this case I would only entertain offers from very high-end experts in brain chemistry.

I have no idea why I am looking forward to ChattaCon this year, but I am. I guess because I have no outstanding feuds with anyone this time or at this con.

Quick! Let's start one!

I'll declare war on that lame yellow trolley!*

-=-=-=-
* sadly, it's the only thing that actually moves on rails these days at the Chattanooga Choo-Choo Hotel

Driven by that guy who goes around and around in circles before getting to the destination?

It would actually make more sense if the trolley made a full loop or something, but it goes from the back of the hotel, circles around the back-nine of the Choo-Choo property (tantalizingly close to the real railroad mainline....hey, let's take its dinky ass out for a spin with the big boys-- WHAM! CRASH!), and then it stops in front of the conference center. Which is, what? Maybe 150 feet from the back of the hotel? And then it comes back the same way. LAME.

Thank ghod for ChattaCon's shuttle buses.

But I digress.

And Pratchett rules.
