So I have been wanting a new tattoo for a while now... what I decided I wanted is not really doable. So I got an idea last night. Greebo! I think it would look cool to have that handsome thing crawling down my neck.

A regular cat would be cheesy, I think, but Greebo couldn't possibly be cheesy. :)

So... sound stupid or conceivably cool?

Shaye, do you have "The Art of Discworld?" If so, you should definitely get a tattoo of the artwork where Greebo is prowling, and behind him in big, red letters it says "Something wicked this way comes." I think it'd be cool if you got the letters, too, but not necessary.

Here's a copy of it found via Google image search: http://www.pjsmprints.com/images/tshirts/somethingwicked-1.jpg

That's exactly what I'm looking at!! :) I printed out a version of that, but I am going to pick up the book here in about an hour--they have it reserved for me.

Going without the letters, though, as it's on my neck and I'm not crazy about tattooed words in general.

I am also taking in the description...
To Nanny, Greebo is still a sweet little kitten that plays with balls of wool.
To the rest of the world, Greebo is an enormous tomcat with a skin that looks less like fur then a patchwork quilt, no ears and only one eye. Greebo is a malevolent collection of life force who won't hesitate to fight or rape anything (As a matter of pride). Dogs hide when Greebo's on the prowl, Foxes detour around Lancre and even Wolves avoid him.

To make sure they downplay the "regular cat" part.

Shaye, I think you need to get another Overkill bat on the other boob. that's much cooler than a cat. Maybe you could get the pinhead guy from our cover? hehehehe

Shows what you know. :p :goggly:

Like duh!! ;)

I have decided I will take the whole book, along with the to-scale version of the artwork. I think I will have them do it in blackwork (I don't have a lot of color and actually prefer blackwork in general) with the eyes the only things colored in--one milky white, the other malevolent yellow.

We will see what they can work up with me. I will be taking the Su with me so all will be well (natch).

Can't wait for the first awkward "um... why do you have such an ugly cat tattooed on you?"

Oh, wow. Greebo. THAT's a cool idea for a tattoo. :)

As a side note, the cat in the pic looks a bit like either of my two cats here -- they're both Russian Blues, and brothers. Only one of them, thankfully, acts Greebo-like toward (almost all) visitors, however. :muahaha:

Well, Greebo is somewhat inspired by a Russian blue, in appearance anyway, so not surprising. :) Urban thinks my boy cat (Lestat) is Greebo-like, but he's my sweet pretty boy. So maybe I'm Nanny Ogg... lol

It should be unique, or damn close to it anyway. I have enough band-related tats (for now...) so it's about damned time i got something more... literary... in nature. lol

Thanks for the comments, everyone--I do appreciate it. as all we prog & power metal fans know so well, there is a very fine line between cool and really, really stupid.

Well, here he is... the newborn Greebo.
