Im looking for a new pre amp to go with my octopre le's. i want something that its going to be obvious its going through that certain pre. something thats going to make a difference to the sound. any suggestions?around £200 or under really.
cheers

There's really no single preamp in that price range worth buying. The lowest priced preamp I'd even consider buying is a Groove Tubes Brick.

You can't really get a descent rackmount preamp for that price range, but you can get a good tube foot pedal preamp that handles distortion/overdrive only. Some example are the Mesa Boogie V-Twin, Hughes & Kettner Tubeman, and Radial Tonebone pedals. One that I have been looking at recently is the Damage Control Demonizer pedal.
