Presonus Firestudio

One of my friends will maybe sell his firestudio next week, and I was interested into replacing my toneport by it. Would it be a good move? Is the firestudio a good interface?

I like mine and haven't had any problems with it. Just make sure your firewire port is compatible as with most firewire interfaces.

What OS are you using? My Firestudio is having problems out the ass and Presonus is giving me the run around.... Just be warned they do have a lot of problems, it's hit or miss.

I don't have any firewire port though, but I heard they sell PCI-Firewire converter or something like that?

yeah if you're using a desktop, just find yourself a pci firewire card

If you go shopping for a firewire card, make sure you read this first: http://www.presonus.com/media/pdf/hardware_compatibility.pdf

Other cards will work, but the ones listed have been tested.

And yes, it does seem like the Firestudio has driver problems with Vista 64.

That's because they don't have any drivers yet

Oops, I just realized all these posts on the Presonus forums were about the lack of 64-bit drivers, not the drivers themselves.

I've got a Firestudio Project and it's worked great with Vista-32 and XP. LUV IT.
