Pretty Maids!!!!! You all better be there so Glenn can keep booking these bands!!

All this talk of Pretty Maids being "heavy" makes me laugh:lol:

They're surely not as heavy as Slayer or a death metal band, but they surely have enough "heavy" songs by traditional HM standards (Maiden, Priest, Dio...) to be considered a "heavy metal band". So, yes, they're "heavy" in my book.

BTW, I checked out a couple of songs from your band on MySpace. Cool stuff. Will you have an album out soon?

If I can add, the heavy songs on Pretty Maids' last album "Pandemonium" like Cielo Drive or the title track are not so far away of your band in term of heaviness IMO. Of course, I only judge having heard the songs on MySpace, and not with a killer production like PM's Pandemonium.

itunes has the last one... for those digitally inclined.

eMusic has the following for those digitally inclined:
Pandemonium (2010)
Jump The Gun (1990, released as Lethal Heroes in America)
Red Hot and Heavy (1984)
Future World (1987)
Screamin' Live (1995, live compilation)
Alive At Least (2003, live compilation)
Sin-Decade (1992)
Stripped (1993, acoustic album)

I think we all have bands like that, for whom we have a preconceived notion, that keeps us from digging into them.
While PM is distinctly 80s, they bare any similarities to Bon Jovi. I'm not incredibly familiar with them. I got Future Worlds back in the day, loved it, and never heard another thing from them.

QFT

Make sure to check out LETHAL HEROES/JUMP THE GUN, great melodic hard rock/metal...

Cool, thanks for checking out the band, the latest disc (Fractured Reality) can be ordered through cd baby and I think Amazon as well, we'll be working on the 4th one this fall (the first 2 are out of print) and hoping to get signed. And yeah, I suppose PM at their heaviest isn't too far from what we're doing,
but 1) those "heavy" songs aren't representative of PM's catalog and sound as a whole, and 2) I would never claim our band is extreme or insanely heavy, for us its melody first. Although I love death, black and doom metal that's not what Endangered Reign is going for (side projects currently ensuing!), so to sum up, let's keep things honest and not bandy about the term "heavy" and PM so freely...just saying...

I've always ignored this band but just checked out Red, Hot, and Heavy.....HOLY SHIT, THIS SMOKES!!!! Are the rest of their albums like this???
