SwordLord Productions & Station 4 proudly announce the resurrection of MINNESOTA METALFEST, the new premiere festival for heavy metal acts in Minnesota. This year’s festival will take place on Labor Day – Monday, September 7 at the Station 4 nightclub in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. Station 4 is the premiere club for heavy metal acts in the state, booking more metal acts per capita than any other venue in Minnesota.

“Minnesota MetalFest has existed in many forms prior to this,” explains Nathan “The SwordLord” Block, CEO of SwordLord Productions. “But this year’s festival will be the start of something truly one-of-a-kind for Minnesota. This will become the premiere metal showcase for bands of all genres from all corners of the world. Keep an eye on this because it’s only going to get better and better each year!”

This year’s headliner is Germany’s high voltage power-house PRIMAL FEAR. Their appearance at Minnesota MetalFest will kick off a very exclusive and limited North American tour which is comprised of only 6 US appearances.

“We are very excited and honored to have PRIMAL FEAR headlining this year’s festival!” says Block. “This will be the first time the band has ever set foot in Minnesota and we are proud to bring them here. This will be an aspect of Minnesota MetalFest that fans can look forward to every year – seeing bands that have either never been to this state before or ones that have not been here in some time.”

Co-headlining the festival will be ATHEIST - Florida’s melodic death metal act which is a proud jewel in America’s metal crown. Their second album released in 1991, Unquestionable Presence, has been acclaimed by fans and critics alike as one of the most influential technical death metal albums of all time.

Rounding out the headliners are Chicago’s doom masters NOVEMBERS DOOM and DESTROY DESTROY DESTROY, a metal band combining elements of death and Viking metal with traditional 80’s thrash.

More bands will be announced soon via the festival’s website (www.MinnesotaMetalFest.com) and MySpace page (www.MySpace.com/MinnesotaMetalFest).

Tickets for Minnesota MetalFest are available via TicketMaster and are $35 in advance or $40 day of show. The show is 16+. Doors will open at 2:00pm, music will start at 2:30pm and run until midnight.
