I'll keep this short. After the disappointing Black Sun, Primal Fear returns with one of its best discs, so far. The return of Tom Naumann (after a 3 year break) adds some fire to the guitar work on this disc, and the addition of Randy Black (Annihilator, Rebellion) on drums provides some extra punch to the rhythm section.
However, I wasn't immediately impressed with this disc. The opening track "Metal Is Forever" is one of those chessy anthems that needs to be flushed faster than a week old turd. The opening track should be an asskicker...NOT an asslicker. Oh, while you're at it...throw "In Metal" in the same toilet (for the reasons above). "Soulchaser" would have been a much better choice to open the disc. It's a ripper that would have started the listening experience with a punch to the face.
Fortunately, the rest of the disc is very solid. Welcome back, PF! Favorite tracks: "Soulchaser", "Visions Of Fate", "Sacred Illusion", "Suicide And Mania", "Sea Of Flames", and "Heart Of The Brave"
