Just got Storm Before Calm and it's good stuff. I really like that 'Cast To The Pyre', that really stuck out for me.
PRIMORDIAL SIGN WITH METAL BLADE RECORDS
PRESS STATEMENT
We are proud to announce we have signed a world wide deal with Metal Blade Records. After thirteen years in existence this will be our fourth record label and hopefully our last. Some may find Primordial and Metal Blade a strange combination as we have musically relatively little in common with many of the bands on the roster but thats what makes it such an interesting and challenging combination on so many levels. We had other offers and interest from various labels and it was clear to us we had to step things up with a bigger label . When we looked at things in the cold light the Metal Blade offer was by the far the best and it became clear to us that we were dealing with a genuine label run by Metal fans for Metal fans with a vast Metal legacy over three decades and not with one eye always on the profit margin. We hope to record our next (fifth)album during the Summer/Autumn with famed engineer/producer Billy Anderson here in Ireland for an early Winter release. We have a few European shows here and there before then so until then vae victis

SHORT BIO
Although Primordials origins go back to 1987 the band more or less began in 1991 and over the last 13 years with one demo (Dark Romanticism), 4 albums (Imrama, Journeys End, Spirit the Earth Aflame and Storm Before Calm) and one mcd (The Burning Season) have proved themselves to be consistently one of the most innovative, original, bold and individual bands within the Metal scene as a whole. Their brand of Dark Metal infused with Irish elements and an organic, earthy real quality has few peers within the genre. Over the years the band while not ever following trends nor being media darlings have built up a strong following of fans who know that this is a band who do not enter into things lightly nor put their names to anything half hearted or dis-spirited. This has been solidified with appearances over the years at festivals like Wacken, Gothick Wave, Full Force, Party San and Summer Breeze and tours with the likes of Immortal, Ancient Rites, Thyrfing, Rotting Christ, Enthroned, Mayhem and Septic Flesh. The band have been on several different record labels over the years (Cacophonous, Misanthropy and Hammerheart) but now have hopefully found their home with Metal Blade Records
