Gimme the Bonesaw! - 90%
Written by chongbong on December 7th, 2008

I have only got this album an hour ago and I've already listened to it twice. This album is only 15 minutes long, but its 15 minutes of good old sick fun. If you're looking for something completely original and new, then I suggest that you fuck off. Fans of old school deathgrind rejoice. Minister Bonesaw rips, tears and grinds without mercy. This album is godly. Let's get to the music, shall me?

No two songs sound the same. They all have quite different riffs, but played in the same style. The riffs range from mi-paced to fast, and they sound great. They also have a SLIGHT melodic touch, and by melodic I mean like the melodies used by early Suffocation. You have to be an experienced listener of the style to get them. There's also a strong hardcore touch in the last song, but this is like Napalm Death's hardcore influences. It's NOT deathcore in the least.

The drumming is awesome, and is spot on. Anything else would have sounded bad. The beats are nice and fast, and complement the guitars.

The bass can sort of be heard, and it's pretty well played. Not much to say about it though.

The vocals are amazing. I really can't describe them. They have to be heard to be believed.

If you're a fan of Exhumed, old Napalm Death, Krisiun, Suffocation etc, I suggest you check this out. If you're not, then fuck off.

Update on behalf of The Devil's Legion :D

Well I now have ten out of the twenty tracks back for the album - thats half of them - and so far everyones holding up really well. All songs and artists have been confirmed (with the exception of Exumer, who are yet to get back to me with a definite answer) and everyone has given their own twist to the tracks they've chosen. I think a special mention HAS to go out to Warmaster (www.myspace.com/warmasterdeathmetal) who have blown my face off with the sheer badassness of their two songs. They've raised the bar fucking stupidly high on this thing, so looks like Warpath, the Chads Lads and everyone else has a lot to live up to hahaha.

The MySpace player has been updated too, tracks now available are Thermonuclear Devastation (Kemakil), Angels of Death (Thrashist Regime), Witch Hunt (Vindicator), Metal Forces (Acral Necrosis), Demoniac (Whiplash IRL, who're changing their name) and Destroyer of Worlds (Warmaster). In case you don't already have itm, the page URL is www.myspace.com/onslaughttribute so add it if you ain't done so already!!

Chaos it up? Obviously the vocals will be different (and superior - CONTROVERSY) but I'll make you a bet. If you can record Blood Upon the Ice twice as fast as the original version, I'll give you 20 quid!

Hahahaha thatd be mental. The song its so difficult...not to play but it just changes constantly. Little accents played and hardly anything is repeated the same. Yeh the vocals will obviously be a little more harsh haha. We got some good group shouty part ideas also!

Im right chuffed to be on the CD with Emperors drummer in Blood Tsunami. Pure mental. We might have Blood Upon The Ice done before out albums out. If its done in time we might shove it on the album. Thatd be mental.

Well I asked Nige if he'd be alright with me putting Bloodbrawl's covers on our EP and he was fine with it so I don't see why not :)

Have you heard Warmaster's tracks yet?! They're CRUSHING!!

We´re done recording! Now to do the mixing and we´re gonna talk to the guy thats doing the artwork to see how thats coming along. Yesterday I as hearing it and it sounds fuckin amazing even though it hasnt been mixed yet. If your into Thrash, Death and a little Groove, you will probably like it. I´ll keep you ll updated here. :)

^ Death thrash and a little groove basically describes Bloodbrawl perfectly.

After trying to record Killing Peace the other day, I realised that my thrahs voice just isn't up to scratch anymore so I'm gonna stick with my deathier voice. So now, we sound a little bit like Covet Chaos (I messaged you an apology in advance Dan :() with a hint of Sadus and Cannabis Corpse in there. Got our new bass player in, guy called HeD. Nice bloke, played at Download '07 with his previous band Defnation. Great player, great songwriter, mindblowing vocalist too. So chancs are me and him will be splitting vocal duties between us on some tracks.

As for Killing Peace, we have a rough track done which has been dubbed as the 'cat ass mix' because A. My throat was fucked, B. My thrahs voice died (though it might've been because of my throat), and C. We forgot the lyrics. So me and HeD just fucked around, everyone whose heard it so far loves it hahaha. I'll post it on here for download soon.

As for Bloodbrawl's own material, its getting there. We're aiming for a late April/early May release (though we said the exact same thing last year) and what we've got so far was so heavy that it stopped the Painkiller. Keep your eyes peeled!!

we dont want to post more songs because we havent even released it, I could put all 6 songs up there but Im not going to just yet, haha.

Well, give them to me so I can steal them and pass them off as my own then  j/k

Seriously though, GREAT stuff!!

Bloodbrawl n00z... had a photoshoot last Monday, wnt rather spiffingly. Kicked Greg in the balls, which was funny. Had the first Bloodbrawl reharsal since October 2007 over the weekend (?!) which again, went ace. And we've got our first gig booked for May 16th - Bar Abby in Sheffield, free entry, playing with End of Eternity and Viperous. Get down!!

Nice stuff Pablokers. I have noticed theres been a load of bands doing a cross of thrash and death, with groove. Not in the groove style of like Machine Head or all that 90s shit. We do it ourselves but we just naturally wrote like that when we started.

Covet Chaos are still doing nothing after the recording of our album. We're saving up money to get CDs pressed. Its difficult stuff paying for it all. So id like to say May for the release but... i can probably say it wont be.

Our session drummer and good mate Mike Pilat has just left The Ocean so hes home more now and we're going to be gigging with him in August opening for HOD in Manchester at their album release show. But that might end up being one of our only shows for a long time and its a shame. But we are writing amterial for our second album which we will sort out next year probably, because if we cant gig, we will just make albums because its so much fun.

Right, feel like I should say a little about what is going on with Evil Insight and our Minds To Mold(Demo).

We had to let our bassist go, basically coz the whole Demo was mixed so that the bassline was buried. Why? Because it was horrendously played. We´re on the search for a new bassist, but since Im not gonna wait for fucking ever to release this thing I recorded Bass myself.

So now its sounding killer, I put a song youve never heard on myspace, and another that you have heard but without a crunching bassline.

P.S. If you play bass and you wanna move to Spain give me a call hahahaha
