I just went outside for the first time today and they've shut down 4th and Market - the main st. through downtown. when I got into work at 6am it was quiet, but there's protesters and sympathizers everywhere. Some are obviously clueless idiots, but it's still very moving. especially seeing teens out there with their parents.

i could do without the chopper hanging out directly over my office, tho.

when we were doing this stuff in philly, one thing we were trained to always be aware of is that pissing off random people is not the way to gain support for your cause, and you rreeeallly have to choose your "block the stairway/road/doorway" battles carefully.

I've got my sights set on that guy straddling the double yellow line, wearing a grey shirt and a stupid expression as a potential recipient of a "yea i'm not in school" bubble.

What Did You Learn in School Today?

Words and Music by Tom Paxton

What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
I learned that Washington never told a lie.
I learned that soldiers seldom die.
I learned that everybody's free.
And that's what the teacher said to me.
That's what I learned in school today.
That's what I learned in school.
What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
I learned that policemen are my friends.
I learned that justice never ends.
I learned that murderers die for their crimes.
Even if we make a mistake sometimes.
That's what I learned in school today.
That's what I learned in school.
What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
I learned our government must be strong.
It's always right and never wrong.
Our leaders are the finest men.
And we elect them again and again.
That's what I learned in school today.
That's what I learned in school.
What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
I learned that war is not so bad.
I learned of the great ones we have had.
We fought in Germany and in France.
And some day I might get my chance.
That's what I learned in school today.
That's what I learned in school.

I had a good laugh when I heard 1000 students from Harvard were going to boycott classes. I can't believe those idiots think that proves anything. They already paid for it. What's not going to class proving. Besides, 10s of thousands of students do it everyday, without any reason. I use to do it at least once a week and nobody cared.

And those idiots blocking the streets should be shot. If you want to protest, march on you capital or something. Don't fuck with everyone elses daily life. Dickshits.
