PUPPY KILLER David Motari MUST DIE

The man is a piece of shit but, we need to level set here. People, not dogs, are murdered every day in this country. People are killed by terrorists every day in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia...etc. Where is the uproar over that? That Marine is a disgrace and should be punished. However, I do think that this is being overblown because it is a US soldier. When a member of Al Qaida murders a person on video by cutting their head off. We don't hear about it as much as we have this puppy. Perspective. . .

Good point. I've expressed the same sentiment a million times...falls on deaf ears to animal lovers. There's chatter that this is a hoax anyway.

I would hope it's a hoax. Unfortunately, whatever is "most shocking" and what will draw the most attention will be displayed on the news, internet, etc. When the first 2 people were beheaded, it was all over the place. Once it continually happened, it lost it's "shock" appeal, and people didn't make such a huge deal about it anymore.

I'm pretty sure terrorist attacks recieve more press coverage than this clip has. In fact, this is the only place I've heard about the clip.

I'd say the perspective is as it should be. Where is the uproar? Watch the news, talk to anyone. Everyone is pissed right now. Even many die-hard republicans have a problem with Bush and our government right now.

Fake or not, it's wrong and stupid. Shit like this makes ALL Americans look bad.

The perspective....Well.....Seeing as that video's sole purpose was to showcase what that soldier was going to do, I think reactions of shock and disgust are more than appropriate.....People flipped out over the videos of the beheadings and the ones about Saddam's hanging....People at workplaces constantly complain about videos shown on the new stations about the war....There was an uproar over the soldiers involved in that torture/prison scandal....This puppy killer is just one more chink in the failing reputation that America has in the world.

I agree that "shock value" has been dramatically lessened with people killing people but the media isn't entirely to blame for that.....We've been killing each other off since the third person on the planet so everyone is pretty much aware that it happens on a constant basis.....The difference being, most killings are touted down to a few word blurbs instead of a video showcase of the acts.

Because, for the most part, people can defend themselves better than domesticated animals. At least against other humans.

Being a former Animal Control Officer in the Marines for 6 months, this clown would have been charged with a Misdemeanor for Animal Cruelty, plus if he were to be court-martialed, there's a bunch of other charges that he can be charged with under the UCMJ (Uniformed Code Of Military Justice). Since this video has gotten out, it gives the Corps a black eye, and the Corps doesn't like to look bad, so this piece of shit will get hammered.

I don't know...I think people tend to give animals more sympathy than humans.

I used to work in downtown chicago. I would get off the train and there would be this homeless guy standing on the curb playing a harmonica with a dog sitting next to him. Chicago winter seperates the beggers from the homeless. So he's standing there and every morning these suburban bitches would bring warm food (you could see steam) for the dog.

Not children...but you'll still hear more ooohs and aaaahs over animals.

That hasn't been my experience, but maybe you've seen different. I think that perhaps you're speaking of this "in general" where as I'm speaking from personal experience.

We've had that problem before.
