Purple plectrums??

Paladinos012.jpg

I see Liz uses purple plectrums, are these Iron MaidenS ones and if so will they be getting sold in the store sometime cos I would love to have some purple ones too. I have yellow, black and white so I gotta complete the collection. :D

I tried to take pictures of them with my camera phone, but all I could get were blurry pieces of crap. Yes, they are purple. I have one from last night's show. I was lucky enough to come away with one of Sarah's also. Anyway...Liz's have the Iron Maidens logo on one side, and her "Adrienne Smith" signature on the other side. Her's is a lot smaller than Sarah's...and it's thick...stiff as a board...seriously. I'm not a guitarist, but I've never seen such a thick pick for a guitarist.

I want one (or five!! )

Sounds perfect for me to play with then!! I use Dunlop Jazz III plecs (see link) and they're really thick and smaller than normal plectrums. I feel normal ones are too big for me to play with now.

I have no idea, it doesn't say it on them. I would say Sara's ones are about 70, Jojo's are just a bit thicker.

I can't tell the exact thickness, obviously, but Liz's pick is much...erm....stiffer...than Sarah's

Which is excellent for me cos I like much stiffer plecs. Shape-wise is it like the jazz one I posted?

I got one. Will give deets tomorrow. It is I'd guess 1.5 times Sara's in thickness.

Very similar. Let me see if I still have one of those blurry pics, so I can post it.

Edit: Hee it is...

OK I'm a geek and have the tools to prove it. Measured the pics and Sara's are .73mm and Liz are 1.09mm.

Dunno what that would be in the pick world but on the micrometer that is the thickness of each.

Jim

yes that's correct jim - i use jim dunlop standard tortex .73 mm - tho i'm not certain about liz's yet - she needs to toss one my way too huh!
i'll give you a heads up when they're available in the store

wow sounds like your a finite picker - do you find it's harder to get pinch harmonics with this smaller pick? i like how the smaller ones sound more precise and tight.

I find it much easier in fact. With the bigger plecs I always had to try and move my fingers on it for doing a pinch harmonic but with the smaller one, I can just leave my fingers where they are.

I've used thin, thick and tortex, but now after all this time, I use thick picks, but everybody has their own. Bichmaker turned me on the Ultex; I like them the best because they have low friction slip for fast picking as like celluloids, but harder material that last longer then Tortex.

I like buy the 72 pack at a time in order to get a fair deal.

I used to use them but now I can't seem to find any that are not in that damn shark fin form which I really do not like at all. I sent you ladies a myspace message about the plecs but now you should just ignore it since spidey had the tools (thanks mate) and you have answered yourself anyway ;)

Now I use anything I can find that is 73. Usually peavey 73m although they are a little larger.

cool! i experience the opposite - where's the pic so i can pinch it!
