Purpose For Putting Strings In Backwards????

I have seen a lot of pics of guitars with OFR, and a lot of them have the strings in backwards, does this make stringing easier???

i dont know, the only thing i can think of is that for most floyd rose lisenced guitars you need to cut off the little balls at the end. Well if the string is backwards there is no balls, so that may be an alternative to cutting them. That is just my guess though
