The first two clips from the new album of the danish power metal band Pyramaze, titled "Immortal", are uploaded at www.pyramaze.com

Actually, Matt Barlow's voice fits perfectly with the music. To be honest, I didn't expect that...

I had my doubts too, but it turned out freakin' awesome! Havn't stopped listening to both songs since last night.

Absolutely awesome! I already threw it on band rec forum. Matt sounds great-better than ever with this band!
Nice to see more info mentioned about Pyramaze!

They sound absolutely killer! Pyramaze has been a very interesting band the last few years. Can't wait to hear the full album!

Yeah, I've been digging these clips too the last few days! It will be interesting to see if this is better than the upcoming Iced Earth record.

Barlow really fits the Pyramaze sound. I think you can already say that it's a shame he won't be recording with them after this....

I might have to check that out. Although I loved Balance of Power and the vocals of Lance King, I never was able to get into Pyramaze. Maybe Barlow IS the right fit for them.

Me neither even after listen to them live (and I have both albums as MP3s), still Barlow doesn't attract my attention to the band either.

Nope.
Have seen no reviews or anything (been looking everywhere), but I have seen a few posts basically stating the cd will blow us away...one of the best etc! So, I think some may have heard it.
CMON PEOPLE, WE NEED DETAILS!:)

Stoked- both Pyramaze and Communic with new releases end of May.

I learnt that the album has leaked. Did anyone listen to it?

Yes it has leaked, and no I didn't download because Pyramaze never caught my attention (even if I had their previous albums and listen to them live) and with Matt Barlow my interest is even less. Check kerrazy-torrents.net

It's not too bad to my ears. I have a problem getting my mind wrapped around stuff when the lead vocalist is different. Nothing's really grabbed me yet. The music has changed a bit but it's still got the definitive Pyramaze signature.

I'm having trouble getting into the new Malpractice as well for the very same reason. I'm curious to see what will happen with Visiion Divine and their new lead vocalist.

I've had it for about 2 weeks - actually the day after you mentioned it leaked, haha - and I'm diggin' it!!! Barlow sounds phenomenal....don't think he's lost a step.

The new Communic is really good too.

Here-here P MAZE!
I assume youv'e heard Communics new release as well in its entirety? Do you have a preference, review, etc. on both releases?

Easily my 2-favorite bands these days, though they vary in style. I have only heard 2-clips from 'Immortal' and 'Payment Of Existence'...really like what I'm hearing so far!

I think you're going to like them both. Communic has done it again. They have not strayed from their sound and put together a fine collection of tunes. The Pyramaze has grown on me and I find it much better than the last release.

Just got this press release....
Sounds interesting....

Locomotive Records Becomes
IMMORTAL WITH PYRAMAZE
~June 24~

New York, NY (May 29, 2008)—Locomotive Records, on June 24, becomes Immortalwhen the eclectic label releases the third album of Denmark’s Pyramaze.

Founded in 2001 by guitarist Michael Kammeyer, Pyramaze amazed with its 2004 Melancholy Beast CD. With its over-the-top Power, Prog Rock chops and distinct melodicism (three traits that have continued on all three CDs), the band—guitarist Kammeyer, drummer Morten Gade Sorensen, bassist Niels Kvist, and two Americans: keyboardist Jonah Weingarten and vocalist Lance King—garnered international acclaim.

Guitarist Toke Skjopnnemand joined in time for the 2006 follow-up, a concept album called Legend Of The Bone Carver.

For Immortal, Lance King is out, and Iced Earth vocalist Matthew Barlow is in. During the Immortalsessions, from late ’07 to early ’08, Barlow rejoined Iced Earth, but his contribution to Immortalcannot be denied!

Powered by crashing chords, lifted by harmonic and melodic inventions, buoyed by nonstop jamming amidst complex arrangements that stop on a dime, Immortalwill prove to be exactly that!
