Who else listens to queen. I have more repespect for Queen than for any band with now I reckon, I LOVE that band. What about anyone else? I guess its an aqquired taste.

they rule, bohemian rapsody is one of the best pieces of music ever created and you gotta love princes of the universe :headbang: very metal, freddy mercury was on of the best singers ever!

I only have "Sheer heart attack", but that's also a great record!!! And Freddie was one hell of a singer IMO! It clearly shows on "Killer Queen"!!
I don't really like "Bohemian rapsody". Maybe it got overplayed for me around the time of "Wayne's world".
I don't like their 80's stuff at all though. Like almost any other band/artist that made good music in the 70's, their music turned to shit in the 80's!! I like "The show must go on" from '91 though! Cool song!

well i don't think their music in the 80's is shit, its more pop oriented, they did some pretty bad stuff too its true, but they always had great songwriting skills, how many timelless songs did they do? a lot! and thats not an easy job, even compare the queen pop songs with the pop of today, you can't even compare that was good pop, well written stuff, today its just a product. To write a timeless song i think thats the most difficult task for an artist whatever genre they play...
and yes the show must go on its really great, i also love the track innuendo from that album, it has a metal vibe going on, those lyrics are really metal and the flamenco guitar solo:headbang:

Queen have been my favourite band since I was 12 (I'm 29 now :ill: ). My older brother was a hge fan and he made a copy of A Kind Of Magic for me because I liked the title track after I heard it on the radio. Oh. My. God. That was it, love at first listen; I couldn't get enough of them and I was Queen obssessed for many years to come. I actually really love most of their 80's stuff (I love 80's music in general); The Miracle is weak, Innuendo a little better and Made In Heaven... well, Freddie and Roger's solo stuff should not have been re-hashed for the sake of album filler. Oh well...

Favourite albums - God damn, I wouldn't know where to start. Queen, Queen II, Shear Heart Attack, A Day At The Races, News of the World, The Game, The Works and A Kind of MAgic for me. Now the smallest list in the world, but after 17 years of fandom I'm afraid thats the best I can do. :p

And another thing - you will not meet nicer people in the music business - fact (I'll be honest, I can only really talk about Brian and Roger here, although I here the same can be said about Deaky. :))

Anyway, I'll shut up now... :loco:

Queen kick ass, they're one of mytop LEGEND bands. A Night at the Opera is such a damn good album, Ive listened to it like 5 times a day for the past 2 weeks, Day at the Races and News of the World are awesome, Sheer Heart Attack and The Game are also awesome. I really need to get a hold of Queen II and Innuendo, from whatI've heard. They where all such talented musicians and songwriters. It really sucks Freddy Died... Or else they'd still be here!

Ya know, after being a fan for a number of years myself, I definitely pick and choose what songs I like, and most of the material is all from the 70s. The early 80s stuff was semi decent, excluding Flash Gordon and Hot Space, erk.

Going back through and listening to the old stuff makes me happy, it's so original and fun and off the wall. It also doesn't have the 'shadow' that falls over the last two albums...

The atmosphere everything till Sheer Heart Attack has is fantastic, that's my favorite era of Queen, I listen to those three albums all the time, Queen, Queen II and Queen at the BBC.

I hardly ever listen to A Night at the Opera, I sort of got listened out on it, it has wonderful songs, but after a point it makes me want to listen to the weirder, darker more orchestral stuff of the earlier cds. The fact they had the courage to do such daring stuff that early in their careers is fascinating. I just kinda wish they'd kept it up into the 80s.

Innuendo is fantastic, but it makes me sad, I don't listen to it that much, but I've listened to it so much that the entire album is pretty much engraved into my memory.
