Queens of the Stone Age- Songs for the Deaf

I was just reading a bunch of interviews with Josh Homme... funny fucker!

This album is fucking great, but to me it just lacks something that Homme had going on back in the Kyuss days. I know this was probably a conscious decision on his part, but I miss the Kyuss sound.

I'm not sure I could honestly compare it to Kyuss, just based on that "lack." To me it's a whole different experience. Kyuss rules, truly, but this album just hits me in a whole new place.

i never listen to kyuss anymore. if i want something like this, i put in clutch, monster magnet, or alabama thunderpussy

sky valley still rules

This album is incredibly dark sounding, that's why it rules.

No really, I mean listen to every other album from Kyuss and Queens. This is the only one recorded in the bowels of hell. Sky Valley is still my favorite, but this one is a god damn monster.

This CD is still the first CD in my car stereo, it hasnt left the first slot since I got my car like 3 years ago. This Cd screams NOSTALGIA to me, not because of the music, but because of what my life was like when I first started pounding the CD. ruleage.
