If this is not the final nail in the coffin... I don't know what is...
Hah! The funny thing is that I still wouldn't be surprised if they come up with another ridiculous idea, as they have for years now...

This seems to be the new way of doing things make people pay to be marketed to. I noticed this phenomenon recently with the Duke Nukem Forever release. Im not a gamer anymore, but I sure was when Duke 3d came out 15 years ago. I wanted to check out the demo of the new game for nostalgias sake, but the demo was only available to people who had bought some other game. Demos and videos were originated to advertise the product that they wanted to sell you, but I guess they got so popular that someone in Marketing decided they could sell the advertising products too. I hope people shun this trend and send a clear message to the marketers that its unacceptable, but Im pretty sure most people are way too apathetic to bother.
No, the Duke Forever is free. Nobody charges for demos. What you're talking about is an advance demo. Buy Borderlands, get early access to the demo.
Also, paying to see a music video to my knowledge has never been done before and is one of the most ridiculous, point-defeating business ideas I have ever heard of. Maybe if it was pay to get an early screen of the video I GUESS it's somewhat acceptable, but that's not what the original post implies.
Except Duke sold like gangbusters regardless of the reviews.
Ok, I see that DNF out now. I was just going off an article I skimmed a month back. Still, the point was that I am seeing this kind of marketing over and over again recently. I'm sure the QR video will be free to watch someday soon too, but, just like DNF, they are trying to pump album sales and squeeze every dime out of their loyal fans up front by charging (in a round-about way) to view it.
Actually, now that I think about it, it kind of makes sense. DtC is getting about the same reviews that DNF did (i.e. horrible), so it's best to suck all the cash out of the die-hard early-buyers you can before they wise up. Shrewd business thinking. Cynical and evil, but shrewd.
Do these guys honestly take themselves seriously?

I could see someone starting a highly critical metal website called "Leap the Ryche."
Check this out, usually Queensryche does fairly well with the amazo.com ratings. But so far out of 65 reviews, "Dedicated to Chaos" has received an average of 2 out of 5 stars!!... That's how you know how bad it is....Wow!! I wonder what the band is thinking about this? If these bad ratings persist, this might be the last QR Album.
