Should I castrate my cat? He's a little jumpy and agressive and I'm thinking of doing it ... any advices ?

Yes, do it with this

It can also sometimes stunt their mental growth if you do it too soon. They'll stop spraying everywhere but my cat Banjo is fucking retarded; castrating him didn't make him less retarded, it just kinda kept the retardedness at the same level. He's super cute, though.

curious, is that why you neamed him Banjo?

Stopped mine from spraying, he's still retarded and no it did'nt turn him into a lard ass. actually for being 13 or 14 he is still very much active.

I don't think most vets castrate them anymore. My cat still has balls, they're just nonfunctional, so it's more like a kitty vasectomy.

A lot better than chopping off his balls , I'll go ask more details about it and maybe the time has come to say goodbye to his black and white balls :/

They take them out but leave his sack.

Banjo's just hardheaded...you can beat the crap out of him but he's still going to do what he wants to do, still going to steal food if you carelessly leave it out, still going to try to dig in the garbage, still shit in the bidet if his litterbox isn't up to his standards.

I named him Banjo because I thought it was a good name for a male kitty...only later did I realize it fit his personality.

I mean, look how pristine those paws are. You can tell he's a lazy bum. He's also an outside cat, so it's not like he stays inside all the time. He just goes outside, takes ten steps to the wall and falls asleep there, then comes back inside. I've seen him eat too fast and puke up his food inside my other cat Cleopatra's food bowl, making her disgusted enough to not want to eat, then Banjo eats not only his puke but the rest of her food as well.

This is when Marduk was a puppy; Banjo wouldn't let him out of his sight. He was so curious of him and never gave him any problems. Now they're literally brothers and do everything together; eat together, sleep together, play together, get in trouble together, etc.

It wont make him any less jumpy or aggressive, but you should do it anyway. Will keep him from spraying on everything in the house.

I got fortunate with my cat, Shitty Kitty. He's 13, never neutered and has never sprayed. None of the males in his family have. The vet told me that since he's 100% inside, never around other cats and he's not spraying, leave his balls in tact.

Unless you have plans to breed them, all cats should be spayed/neutered once they are old enough (at least 8 weeks I believe). The benefits far outweigh any negatives, and sometimes your local SPCA may have a low-cost event where vets or vet students do it for free or for a very low cost.
