Iv been debating this with myself for a long time. Everytime I go to a local record store, I come across a used copy of Mayhem's Live in Leipzig. It costs about $8. Is this album worth getting?

It's probably the best thing they've ever released. It's quite n3kr0 though, so don't expect to hear the most crisply produced live performance. It's still quite worth it, because the band just seem to be full of spirit and the guitar tone is as cutting as a razor.

It is very very very well worth getting, though I'd say DMDS is their best release followed by Out From the Dark, but Live in Leipzig is fucking EXCELLENT as well.

Attila was the best possible replacement for Dead, he is truly excellent on that album and the early Tormentor works (I haven't heard that Recipe Ferrum-thing so I don't know there), but Dead was the greatest. FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONRAAAAAAAAAAAFOG

It's on the FTP now, at least. If you ask me the 7th Day of Doom is just as good, though, so Ledo Takas would be worth checking out.

Yeah it's a lot better. The presenatation as well as Dead's vocals are extremley intense and primal which is the most appropriate presentation of Mayhem's music. I've barley even listened to De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas because it feels so much less effective in comparison to Live in Leipzig...Donnie Darko said:
