Hey all,

I've been singing lead for a while, but I'm not a schooled singer, and there are a couple of things that concern me.

When I'm singing, I'm "pushing" a lot in order to get loud, and I think it causes blood to run to my head. Is this normal at all? After a rehearsal I sometimes have a smoldering headache, and I'm thinking it can't be very good for my blood vessels and brain cells. I'm trying to sing from my diaphragm, but I'm not sure I'm doing it right.

Also, after a while my throat tends to get sore. Again, is this normal? I haven't been singing for very long - could it be that I'm just not used to it, or should I start worrying about my vocal cords?

Do you have any advice for me?
