Hey Sam, my rolls sound shitty if I lead with my left hand (weaker), but If I lead with my right they sound pretty good. This is fucking weird to me. Obviously, to correct this I've been trying to practice rolls more leading with my left, but I was wondering if you had any tips/pointers on this fascinating subject.
thx

to answer this properly, you must be able to say to yourself:

Man, I'll be honest with you, my left hand is weak as shit too. Tell you what, let's both work on left hand strength and report back.

I've been trying to work on better technique in general, as I saw some video of myself playing and was horrified. In particular I have this awful habit of allowing my middle, ring, and pinky fingers to slide off of the stick and flare outwards when I'm playing a double stroke. I've picked up a copy of Stick Control, so here's hoping it can hit with me the virtual ruler across the wrist...

dick jokes go now!

Thanks Sam!
Yea, I got Stick Control a few years back when I got back into drums more. One of things I like to do is take a left/right snare pattern and use it for kick and snare (right hand=kick / left hand=snare and then also reverse it) that can really fuck with the burned in muscle memory and make you feel like goofball hopped up on ether.

p.s. I knew someone would have to make a jacking off reference to my dilemma (I'm looking your way xfer). But seriously.....I'd have to make up for about 20 years of right handed self-gratification.

p.p.s. I always thought "The Backhand Lefties" would be a cool band name.
