I've noticed the distinction between Audiophile and Professional lines for all headphone makers, but tbh, Ive never used the "audiophile" line for anything at all, so, was wondering what they really do differently?

Im going to pick up some phones to use to do SOME tracking, SOME mixing, and quite a bit of gaming also... so what's the big difference between say the Sennheiser HD 555's and the HD 280s?

well, the HD555's are an open back model whereas the HD280s are a closed back model. If you want isolation, the HD280's are the way to go. The HD555's look a lot like the HD595's, which are some of the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn.

Thanks. Think I might scoop up those M50's of AT after some further research. Any information on the AKG product line?

Im still having a hard time figuring out what the big difference is in "Audiophile" cans and studio cans, lol.

after a while the 280pro's seem like there suffocating your ears. i like em' better than most of the other closed back headphones i have tried(not many..)
