Hey guys, since we all have impeccable taste (we listen to Vintersorg) I'd be interested to hear from fellow fans about tastes and just learn a bit about you guys in general and stuff so I made a questionaire (Mr V feel free to answer too if you have the time ).

Firstly post a photo if you can.

Name: I never tell that, personnal rule.

Where from: Montréal, Québec, Canada.

Why Vintersorg: I just dig his style, all about it. The melodies, the harmonies.

Favorite lyrics: All of them, couldn't pick one.

Dream Band: Vintersorg on Spiral Generator and Focusing Blur is pretty much it. Add Hansi Kürsch on the vocals and I'm in heaven.

Best concert: Blind Guardian, Montreal, 2002.

How often to concert: not often enough for money reasons.

When I got into metal: about 6-7 years ago.

Other genres: classical, jazz, mainly.

Instrument: Bass, 5 string Ibanez SR405 fretless.

In a band?: Might say so, but its on the ice right now.

How many CDs: 175, all originals, no copies.

Friends into same music?: Almost all my friends, I pretty much pick my friends according to musical tastes since music is a huge part of my life.

Describe why you like Vintersorg: I like Vintersorg because he is passionate, sings about things very few other musicians sing about, he is unbelievably talented, he understands all the aspects of music that I desire, atmosphere, dynamics, variety, layering, epic nature, majesty, grace, intensity, so many things.

When you got into them: I got into Vintersorg the band earlier this year, shortly after, I got into all his other projects.

Favourite Vintersorg lyric: "He sees a paradise in every flower, a solar system in every spark."

Best Concert you've been to: There have been many, World/Inferno Friendship Society shows, Sticks and Stones shows, Nanuchka shows, Therion, but most recently, EMPEROR!!

How often do you go to concerts: lately, not very often, but in general, sort of often.

Other Genres you like: I like a lot of music, I like stuff with atmosphere, I like progressive rock, psy-trance, ambient, punk, hardcore, jazz.

Favourite non metal bands: Ulver (now), Waterclime, Unicorn, The Lawrence Arms, NoMeansNo, The Falcon, Sticks And Stones, World/Inferno Friendship, The Mars Volta, Nanuchka.

Do you Play an instrument: Guitar, bass, I sing, drums.

Are you in a band: I'm in 5 bands.

How many cds do you own: 200+ actual cds.

Do alot of your friends listen to the same stuff as you: two of my friends do, one listens to pretty much only the same stuff I do, the other listens to the stuff I do every now and then.

What stuff are you currently getting into: I'm currently getting into Nightingale and Agalloch.

Favourite bands: My favorite metal bands (since I listed my favorite non-metal bands above) are Arcturus, Solefald, Ulver, Sigh, Bal-Sagoth, Age Of Silence, Borknagar, Vintersorg, Unexpect, Blind Guardian, Cronian.

Describe why you like Vintersorg. I like it because it has really interesting lyrics and amazing music, I think the theories behind everything is really cool and I love Mr V's style and his vocals, the switching in between harsh and clean is really awesome.

When you got into them?

About 2 years I randomly bout their cd without even thinking, didn't really like it at all until I listened to it like 4 times, now it's my favourite, there was a year I listened to Visions from the spiral generator everyday.

Yeah the Mr V line up is perfect but I wanted it a bit different, even though its totally unrealistic

Like once or twice a yea, not many good people come but I make an effort

When you got into metal?
When I was like 14, first cd's were Metallica which got me into music, then Blind Guardian/In Flames which got me into Metal, then Vintersorg which got me passionate

Oh man, Reggae, Jazz, Electronic Music (Trance etc), Good Hiphop, Rock everything.

Describe why you like Vintersorg. - First non-'mainstream' metal band I got into and it opened a lot of new doors for me. Huge fan of his early stuff and also Otyg, saw Vintersorg live finally in 2004 and man was it greatstill have the photos with the man on my room door
When you got into them? - Around year 2000,2001
Favourite Vintersorg lyric? - A Dialogue With The Stars

Best Concert you've been to? - I'd have to say Nevermore last year.
How often do you go to concerts? - Dependes on the bands, I rarely go see bands that i don't know or like...i go to smaller concerts here and there and to bigger ones about 4,5 times a year
When you got into metal? - hm...I got into metallica and iron maiden and judas priest around 1998,99 (age 12,13) after that it took me a while to really get into other bands since i didn't know anyand i live in a place with NO metalheads but when I joined the slovene tolkien society goggly: ), I got exposed to a lot of metal and just picked it up and went with it

Are you in a band? - Not really, I'm prolly going to audition for a slovenian death metal band called Sweet Sorrow (a pretty 'big' metal band in slovenia) and i'm also thinking of starting something on my own..a project perhaps with a few friends...

If you're in Israel I'm not going there, not with them fighting on two fronts now. Wouldn't even be going to Israel if it were at peace mind you.

I'm in Israel, its perfectly safe where I am and I havent been in any danger or near any danger in 5 months, the fighting is on the border and in the north but I understand you'd think it was really frightening because of the news or whatever. It's really a beautiful country with amazing people and an awesome metal scene.But IM from New Zealand, so I was comparing the two different scenes.
