Hello all!
I'm a big Maiden fan and a developing Maidens fan lately.(I can't be a huge fan, I'm ½ inch taller than Slash :D )
Since this is a forum about thing I like, and the band members also seem to paticipate, I developed and idea.. Like my name implies, I'm heavily into audio rigs. I'd like all of you to post ideas about what you would expect from a pro studio.. The equipment, instruments facilities, all the lot. Also, if you can, name some albums that you think have an excellent prduction, and also tell what you like about them.

Anyways, all of you, rock on!

Okay here is something for starters. I subscribe to the pure simple sound you get from Maiden so:
1. Good Guitar with low action and great neck.
2. WAH Pedal.
3. MXR Phase 90.
4. Clean Distortion Pedal MXR or Keeley Seeing Eye Mod.
5. EQ Pedal.
6 Duncan Pickup booster pedal for gain boost without tone, simular to Billy Gibbons Super Hardon pedal.
7. Echo Delay pedal - not Ibenez they suck, cause they add unwanted tone.
8. Chorus Pedal.
9. Marshal Tube head.
10. Some Strats.
11. A good player.

And in the order specified.

Okay, thank you, RoboCaster! I'm looking for all sorts of input, this was very helpful!
Was the Keeley Mod done with an DS-1 or SD-1? I can't remember..

Yea the seeing eye mod was done with the DS-1, I got one, and I really like it very much.

Cool.. I used to have a modded Keeley DS-1 myself.. I gave it to a friend, though..
I modded it after the instructions on the old keeley page.. PM me if interested.. The page might be a hoax, but it worked well with my amp.

Yes mail me some instructions on what you got, I would like a refresher in that concept, but I thougt about replacing the caps an resistors in my WAH with the high quality silver mica and what not in order to trick it out.

Yea I got it, but sometimes when I send messages the go to a void somewhere, so I replied, I will check later to see if you got it my email address.

Thanks.

Okay here is one for you, Rush uses a private mansion in the Canadian mountains to record their albums and they used the mountain walls to bounce the echo for natural reverb during the water section to ‘Natural Science’ you know:

“When the ebbing tide retreats…. along the rocky shoreline… it leaves a trail of tidal pools in a short lived galaxy… etc….”

They didn’t use any synthetic reverb on that one, and it just takes you away when you listen to it.

Amazing.. in so many ways.. I just recently got into Rush.. I haven't heard that one yet, though..

You mean you haven’t been into Rush yet? Blasphemy! He.. he.. I love to play the old through the modern up to ‘Lime Light’ (Lime Lights a blast.), but the new modal tone thing, I have no interest in.

Limelight is a wonderful song to listen to and to play.

Yea there are a few, get 'Rush Chronicles' great live version of "Passage to Bangkok"

You must play, just to name a few:
Spirt of Radio,
Free Will,
Lime Light,
Passage to Bangkok (live),
Tom Sawyer,
Red Barchetta,
Natrual Science - Kinda cool, because he sings of Alien life forms and evolution.

There are just so many and they're all good.
