1. Is the 2CD Isis remixes collection worth getting? It pretty cheap on various websites.

2. What's Mare like? Is the EP worth getting?

3. How that Red Sparrowes CD?

4. Jesu, is it a copy of Godflesh? If so, nevermind.

Experimental hardcore with chamber music thrown in. It is great imho.

3. How that Red Sparrowes CD?

Awesome!!! I have no idea how you would take it though.

Not really, but you can tell the connection. The EP is good anyways. Cannot speak for the full-length.

Check out Deadbird.

I must say, the Deadbrd review on Hellride makes me want to buy it. So is Rwake any good? NAD, don't answer.

Sidenote: Check out the Rudra revew at Hellride. Nice.

Rwake fucking rule! A lot more eccentric than Deadbird, though you can tell it is the same guitarist. His signature style, if you will.

I'm over at Hellride a lot. I just recently seen fotmbm over there in the Heavy Metal forum inquiring about Cloven Hoof. :)

I'm gonna wait until Earache re-releases Deadbird, 'cause I'll be able to get it a bit cheaper. Gotta be a cheap bastard right now.

I think I'll pass on Red Sparrowes. I cannot get into what the Neurosis boys are doing these days, and i have a suspicion it's probably soft sounding and stuff.

Everyone says Jesu rules, so....

Red Sparowes are teh win. I'm sure it'll be at the very top of my '05 list, somewhere in there anyway. Buy At the Soundless Dawn as soon as possible.

No .

I don't know if you would like Jesu . 50/50..

2CD Isis Remixes - I don't have it yet.

Mare - AWESOME! Very heavy. Doomcore with chamber music, I guess.

Red Sparrowes - One of the best instrumental bands around. Also one of the best of the year.

Jesu - Only the some of the vocals and the occasional guitar sound have any similarities to Godflesh. The full length is practically on the same level as the last two Isis CDs. It is EXCELLENT.

I wouldn't bypass the Red Sparowes CD, while it doesn't have anything as soul crushing as Neurosis at their heaviest it is in no way soft. I find it as bleak and desolate as Eye of Every Storm and as compelling instrumentally as Panopticon. And since remixes are almost without exception exploitation releases with no real artistic insight, stay away and leave Oceanic in its proper state.
