Quick question to those with experience using impuleses...

Is there supposed to be an almost unusable amount of hum coming out of the fx send (preamp out)? It sound more like a hum ala grounding issue... but i havent heard one of those ever in any of my studios, so i'm not sure...

I'm trying to experiment with impulses for the first time and this is just aggravating...

Any advice would be awesome as I'm about to just give up...

You don't say which amp you are using so it's hard to give an answer. I've recently gone back to using impulses with my Fireball and its all dead silent when using the FX Send.

I'm trying to use my SpiderValve 1x12 to experiment with impulses for demoing stuff...

btw, its going straight into an MBOX2mini...

Guess it's either the amp or the mbox. I presume there's no such noise when recording something else? Try running the signal from the fx out to something else and see if the noise is there.

do you have an external hardrive, that might be it. mine does that when i have the external harddrive on

I've got a countryman DI and a sansamp... i will try those first, see if it works...
