R.I.P Eduard Khil

i once saw an interview with him that was filmed after that song went viral. he was genuinely happy that he was able to touch the hearts of so many people with that song, and believed people laughed with him, instead of at him. i wasn't a fan but i hope he was never told what the shitty fastfood of entertainment called "internet meme" really means.

RIP

Don't you get about the same vibe from it as you most probably get from watching Singing In The Rain ?

You know... a young man acting silly and singing when madly and freshly in love.
Makes your heart warm up and puts a smile on your face .

OK so i just Googled it and learned that the trololo song name translates to "I Am Glad, 'Cause I'm Finally Returning Back Home".
So positive emotions, happiness, etc.

ok fair enough .. like I said, was just curious how you knew that

be one thing to say its the impression it gives you, which is fine but by no means and direct window into the guy's mind and intentions

but if thats what the song translates to, good enough for me

It's an adaptation of that song with the aforementioned name with the lyrics turned into nonsense in order to save his own hide from persecution from his government.

So really, he IS really happy about singing the tune!

Love the song and hum it every day at work when in a good mood. R.I.P. Eduard Khil.

I thought it lacked lyrics so that it could appeal to the hundreds of linguistic groups in the USSR?
