R.I.P. - Kevin Dubrow

Dubrow was found dead in his home by friends on Sunday. No official cause of death yet.

This sucks. This makes me think about the recent thread about discovering and re-discovering music. Over the last year or so, I've picked up some old Quiet Riot cd's and loved all of them so far. I even found his solo cd In For The Kill. Like many of you, Quiet Riot was one of the first Hard Rock/Metal bands that I got into at a young age. They were at least partially responsible for my love of heavy rock and roll. They helped break down the doors in the music industry and made it possible for MANY bands to get a shot. If not for the success of Metal Health, bands like Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Ratt, W.A.S.P. and countless others that followed may never have been given a chance by big record companies and my teenage years would have SUCKED!!!!

R.I.P. Kevin...here's to ya!:kickass:

The celebrity Web site TMZ.com was reporting Monday that Kevin Dubrow, lead singer for the ’80s metal band Quiet Riot, was found dead in his Las Vegas home.

The 52-year-old was reportedly found Sunday by a neighbor and TMZ says the Clark County Coroner was trying to determine a cause of death.

Fellow band member Frankie Banali posted a message on his Web site which read: “I can’t even find words to say. Please respect my privacy as I mourn the passing and honor the memory of my dearest friend Kevin Dubrow Quiet Riot’s 1983 single “Cum on Feel the Noize” was the first heavy metal song to make Billboard’s pop chart and helped carry the album “Metal Health” to the top of the Billboard pop album charts.

people can say whatever they want about the guy, I always found him refreshing and entertaining. He seemed to really enjoy what he did. He will be missed terribly.

There's a thread on Metal Sludge's gossip page right now. A few people who either knew Kevin Dubrow or had met him have commented. Worth checking out, especially how Dubrows' always been kind of a target on Sludge! Nice to see him remembered fondly.

Wow kevin dubrow..he always looked like a had a great time on stage performing..
Quit Riot was actually the first metal band to reach number one in the billboard charts I believe in the 80's..
I am glad he was part of that history...

Geez.... that sucks.
I'm very curious as to how he died......
However, I'm sure he's now riding the Slick Black Cadillac in the sky.

Just checked the Sludge board again and Tracii Guns posted a thread about Kevin Dubrow. He posts there under the name SatansChicken...yeah, I know...

Anyway, it's a cool story.

Wow. There are so many musicians dying right now! :(
Even though I don't really know a lot of stuff by Quiet Riot, this still SUCKS. Him and his friends/family will be in my prayers.

this is a real shocker. i love quiet riot and own every album. their new album rehab was a good 70's style blues hard rock album. i hope kevin and randy are jamming again. he was a very important figure in metal history

One more comment I wanna make..Before I learned about Kevin Dubrow passing I was streaming through youtube. I was checking out thee tribute videos on Cliff Burton and man it just kept taking me back like if it was yesterday..well I kinda paused a little and checked back to the anthrax forum not only I was suprised to hear about kevin passing but I took it hard to comprehend that life as we know just comes and goes...i guess that is a reason why I like that old chinese proverb "MAY IT BE YOUR FATE TO LIVE IN INTERESTING TIMES" That helps me understand my life and life itself just a little..:saint:
