It an apathetic world. It's only gets worse the kids I teach today (these are the ones that actually go to community college) I'd say 98% of them have no sense of the world outside them other than which chick spat on another chick on Flava of love.

Now lets face it when I was 18 I wasnt thinking about world politics or current events all the time but I did have a basic Information skill set (like most of us did here) that none of these dummies coming out of high school have.

I asked a student once what crop did England want so badly to import from Colonial America ? ( again this is college)

The Kid said confidently ... Tabasco

After cracking up I told him the correct answer was Tobacco.

Needless to say I called the kid HOT SAUCE for the rest of the semester.

You didn't even need to tell the whole story, man. The fact you call someone who goes to college a "kid" shows just how pathetically immature these fuckheads are.

In fact, the only time I ever hear of someone under the age of 25 being referred to as a "man" is when its about some immature punk who committed a violent crime.

I remember when Zarqawi got his just dessert, and when I was like "Tits McGee!" most of the young guys had NO idea who he was.

I had to explain to them he was the dude you were gonna be fighting.

Kids in my econ class don't know anything about stuff like the dot.com rise and fall, and that probably is just the tip of the iceburg. I saw a mid 20's guy ask "who won WW1" and he was serious. But I had to give him a break, he was black and went to the poor highschool in town, which is pretty bad even considering this is Tennessee and the education system here blows.
