oh man, he's so right. i cant believe chris cornell actually did this... i mean, i was already incredibly skeptical when i heard timbaland produced the album, but tried to keep some sliver of hope alive until i saw the video the other day... holy shit, what a joke. i havent seen someone sell out so bad since Gwen Stefani's solo album.

why the hell do these superstars, hall of famers, legends-in-their-own-time type of figures do things like this? you've already made it, youve got money/fame/whatever the hell else you want, why give up your artistic integrity and legacy? Santana and Ozzy come to mind right away, but there's so many more who've destroyed their legacy in my mind. at a time when their fame and influence gives them complete artistic freedom, they completely sell out. i just dont get it

dont get me wrong, i like pop music, Cornell and even Timbaland. I think he has helped shape and drive rap/hip hop forward both musically and production-wise for over a decade. i even have and dig Cornell's first solo album. but this? wow...

I saw this a while ago though.

Got a lot of respect for the man I have to admit, got some good opinions on shit.
