Right, but I still think the tone needs some more chunky low end (IE: Cab resonance). Right now it sounds kind of thin.

ok... I did put a filter at 80hz and 12khz... I will play around some more. thank you..

might be a setting on my amp. Or I did put a 120hz cut on the 414... I will have to change that.... Thanks for the help!!!

WOW, no no no, this is WAY too thin regardless of what string you played the riff on; it's got a cool character, but mein gott does it need some balls - what mic(s) did you use? It's a bit harsh, was the c414 involved perchance? And I miss your old avatar

I did change the high pass on the 414 maybe that will help I know that 57s don't have much low end djent.

Dude, you're drunk at 5:44? And believe me, you can get plenty of low-end with just one 57, maybe try that for awhile, multi-mic'ing can often be a total pain in the tits!

Looking at my pic that i posted a link to.. where should I put it, or where should the cut be.. Is it an amp thing.. I agree it is a little thin. but that is why i am posting this now cause Mandragora... wants to record with me... The rhythm player is a childhood buddy of loomis.. i need to get a tone that is worthy of a record label caring about... he uses a pod pro and the other guy has a peavey xxx bad cabs so it will either be direct with ir's or with my cabs I have a Mesa OS and a Marshall 1960 with celestion 75's any info advice.. I have been reading this forum for YEARS and the one thing IRONICALLY since I am a guitar player is guitar tone.... oh back to my sentence earlier I was using a jackson RR neck thru with an EMG 81. he has a schecter 7 string with 707's HELP!!!

I have tried 1 mic techniques with a 57 up the ASS!! nothing worth posting believe me!! Is it a preamp thing? I use a presonus Digimax lightpipe through a presonus firestudio. I get great vocal sound almost anywhere with the 414. I get Awesome results with bass with a D6 on the sub and a 57 on the tweeter. I get great results with drums with either triggers or mics. If i have problems I have aptrigga and always make a point to record samples of the set the drummer is playing in this case he is litterally the best drummer in Wisconsin. Not only does he have a $13000 drum set but he plays it like I have only heard in concerts. Only thing is guitars... Ironic... I should kick my own ass. I have been playing since 5th grade... I should be able to get a good tone?!?! ANDY WHERE ARE YOU???
