rate my tone please?

Sounds a little too scratchy/fizzy for me. Maybe move it a little ways away from the dustcap?

Also, it would help a lot to hear it dual tracked.

By dual tracked to you mean copied and pasted? Because I only hear one guitar going there, and it's panned straight down the middle.

lol i must be soooper highh
i totally forgot.. i mic'd the cab with a 57 and a 58
ahah

but how would i get rid of that scratchyness?
like..if i cut enough of that freq for the sizzle to go away
then i got no high end. . . .

whats the trick?

The trick is to get the highs from the high mids rather than the fizzy highs ~5-8khz.

Don't do it with Post-EQ though, do it with mic positioning and amp settings.

And two performances next time please. :D

thanks for the help man
really

the problem is i dont have good monitoring headphones.. amp is always bleeding through the phones.
i need something better

reamping?

I always do this since guitar tracking with amp sim work like shit for me.
Use your amp when you tracking DI and reamp later;)

But for back to subject: not my cup of tea but this tone would be usable with more low mid and less high imo.

no your right
its way too high
its not what i want
and i do reamp my stuff
not this time though

and when i say "the amp is bleeding through my headphones"
im saying that i cant hear what the mic's picking up
just the amp

and just like all amps
the richness comes at a certain volume.

too low..sounds too solid state-ish
a little bit louder - fuckin reptar
