Had nothing better to do today and decided it was too hot to track solos for Cu Sith, so remixed the septic ashes track using Slate drums (And additional processing) and then just went all out and remixed the song from scratch...

I think the drums could stand to be a little louder. The cymbals seem louder than the drums themselves.

+1 on the high end too. Still sounds real good though

Overall I like it. The kick needs some click and bit of overall brightening wouldn't hurt.

Otherwise, it sounds good.

Vocals have some odistortion that I don't like very much, listening with phones it sound a bit fizzy. I would keep an eye on it.
The rest sounds great.

Cool song man.
There is something strange about the guitars though IMHO. They sound a little hollow to me.
Other than that sounds great. The drums especially are wicked

sounds great, I think the drums could even be mixed a bit more aggressively but thats why they nicknamed me Bang I guess... I actually think Gavin what this needs is a bit more overall mix compression to slightly "pump" the kick and snare so they quickly cut through even more.. Do you have the Waves SSL? If so try 4:1 attack 10 auto release and whack it 4db. But great stuff, these are just picky details.

I presume he meant Master. I cant see using the SSL Bus Comp on anything but the master channel...

Sounds good. I like the mid-range "djent" of the guitars. Only thing that doesn't sit right with me is that the snare seems to have too much body for this mix. Seems to stick out in an overly obvious way. Which sample was that? Sounds like 2 or 8. I'd try 7 for a crackier tone that doesn't dwarf the mix. That and overall the mix is a little dark, but that's been a problem of mine for a while, too.

I'm not a fan of that guitar tone... but then again you like ENGLs... lol...

I think the cymbals are too loud... and the guitars slightly as well...

I tend to bring the OVHs up in my mixes too much as well...

Yeah, i know about the vox. Normally i'd go in and sort therm but i cut them best as i could within a 15min time frame as i had other stuff to do that day...
