Ratt - Best of Me

Ratt is the first metal band I ever got into. They still hold a special place for me. The key to Ratt's success is how good/bad Stephen's voice is sounding. Haha.
Had low expectations for this as well. The majority of what the band released after Detonator was pretty bad. This is a surprise, pretty damn good song, even if it's very pop. Digging the backing vocals.

Ratt was my first concert back in 86. Warren DeMartini is pretty much the reason I started playing guitar. The new song has that old school Ratt feel. I like it. This is a surprise as, considering their last few discs, I expected this to suck.

It sounds like Ratt. But unfortunately it sounds like the upbeat Ratt, ala "I Want a Woman" and not the darker Ratt, circa Out of the Cellar and Invasion of Your Privacy.
Sounds like it could be off of Invasion of Privacy to me....I liked the song personally. Much better than the crap they have been putting out on their last few albums

You know what...? It's pretty damn good. I'm quite surprised. Much like Don Dokken's, Stephen's voice sounds damaged by cigarettes and such but I'm glad he's back in the band.

Bottom line, It's not RATT without Stephen or Warren. You have to have both, otherwise don't call it RATT. If Stephen wasn't in the band I wouldn't have even bothered to listen to it.

Wow, The 2010 version of Stephen Pearcy, (born July 3, 1959), looks fragile....

Exactly, it reminds me of "I Want A Woman" crossed with Dokken's "Burning Like A Flame" - I quite like the '80s vibe but I do hope the rest of it is more reminiscent of Out of the Cellar and Invasion of Your Privacy...

Ratt is by far my favorite band from the 80's, period. With that said, I was expecting a terrible effort, much like the self titled album back in 99'. This song is ok at best, but nowhere near to Invasion of Your Privacy standards. I will purchase this once it comes out, because judging from this single, it will be worth buying. :kickass:

Being the 80's metal junkie I am, I had a feeling this was going to blow. However, after hearing the song a few times I'm pleasantly surprised. I've always loved RATT, even the later stuff, so this may turn out to be decent.

On a side note, as much as I like Pearcy on disc.....he is AWFUL live. I haven't seen them in a few years, so if anyone has seen them lately perhaps they can tell me different??

Exactly!!!! couldn't have said it myself. With that in mind, I'm kicking myself in the ass for missing the Extreme/Ratt tour last year

ya they were good when we saw them, BUT they were scary on....well pearcy at least, I KNOW he was terrible in ST Pete the night before we played with them in jacksonville, so part of me wonders if his vox were tracked???? it was a completely different sound..

never the less, its a good song and im a sucker for obviously catchy 80's metal \m/
