Remember these guys? The drummer who played with his head? What was the name of their "hit" record?!??! I was trying to track it down...
Ted

"Hit" records in the USA I think were as follows
"The Pack IS Back" "Stay Hard, Stay Wet" & I think "Life's a Bitch" was the last on the Atlantic Label in the USA. I don't remember "Whacko" playing with his head, but then again I was just a casual fan of the band... I think they were pretty good for a three piece.

I dont Remember What Thier "Hit" Record was but I know I like them "Ah C'mon Gimmie a Fuckin Break!" I really enjoy some of thier stuff and some of it is just Boring

most known records are "Brake the Chain" and "Rock untill you drop" I think. I also love their double live album....As for songs "Hell Patrol" is the coolest i can think of.

Great band. I believe Stay Hard was their hit record with "Stay Hard" and "On and On" the two big songs. All For One and Rock Till You Drop were also big records for them. My favorite one is Wiped Out. I saw these guys live back in March at the NJ March Metal Meltdown. They were great and I met them after their performance and they signed my Wiped Out cd.

In 81/82 Raven where together with Accept my favorite live bands. We used to follow them around though Holland. Belgium and a part of Germany. I still love their

"Rock until your drop"
"Wiped out" [this album smokes]
"All for One"
"Live at the Inferno"

I have all their singels and their EP from those days.
Anything from those days is really good!

But with the release of "Stay Hard" they fucked up.
They tried to get big easy and quick in the US and failed miserably!
Justice was done however. Around 1984 quite a few good bands lost it because they went commercial on their fans. Anvil was one of them. Well, it hurt the band more then it did their fans. Although I was very dissapointed when Raven took to this road.

With Wiped out they discovered new way to mix speed and technique. I had hoped they would have worked this out a bit more. On their singles and their EP "Crash! Bang! Wallop!" they were a bit more experimental. That all dissapeared when "Stay Hard" was released.

John and Mark used to be friends of me. I have only seen them once since they left for the US in 1984. I still feel bad for them. They could have been very great if they stayed the course.

"Break the Chains" is my favorite Raven song, can't stop air guitar on this one!
I need to get more of their stuff though, how did they release so many albums? :loco:
