I think juicy77 is better than gsuite. You can disable the speaker emulation thus use impulses. The only downside is that it's cpu hungry. But soundwise, it's the best hi-gain ampsim ever imho.

I remember trying Juicy with the impulses but there were some massive resonances in the low end (could have been due to the impulses) and a lack of mids (possibly also due to the impulses).

Trying it without the impulses left a lot to be desired, IMO.

Tried it, didn't like it. Couldn't get it to sound usable at all. Do you have soundclips?
D'oh! Next time I'll keep my mouth shut cause after trying to make a cool great sounding clip out of it, not only I have to admit that I play like shit but It doesn't sound that good.  :waah:
I think the trick is that it "feels" cool when I play through it, but when I listen back to it "in the mix", I wanna puke. I take back what I said.

I tried that too and it sounded like crap until I scolled down on the VST and saw the cabinet emulation control on Juicy77. Turn it off and use your impulses (if you haven't already). I think Juicy77 sounds a little bit better than guitarsuite this way.

Splatt...how do you turn off cab em and add impulses to it? ...I dl'ed Juicy77 and it's just a little box when loaded in my VST in Waves..thanks

The bottom bar should say "Speaker Cabinet..." or something - slide it all the way to the left so the model listed is "Speaker Cabinet" as well.

Try this for shits... I did this once and decided to sell my PODxt because of it. I don't have a functional PC at home at the moment so this is from memory:

Voxengo Tube Amp > Juicy77 (no speaker emulation) > Guitar Suite JCM900

Use moderate settings and tweak it in stages. Think of Voxengo as a slight boost pedal, Juicy77 as the pre gain, and Guitar Suite as the post gain and speaker cab.

Didn't that one Chimp Spanner guy do some cool songs with Warp Vst and with the first Amplitube?
