Real drums, female vox and some growls

Cymbals too bright maybe. Singer's very good, I wish my singer would sing like that :-P. The growls sound weird though, like buried.

Nice song overall ;-)

yeah the female singer is really good
i dont like the kick sound :S
and yeah the cymbals are bright (and especially the HH)

i really like the song!!

Is there a tambourine in the chorus? There's something there that sounds like it's happening in my head (kind of irritatingly bright). Other than that, I think only the HH might be a little too bright. The snare could probably use a little more highs to match the overheads in clarity.

I'd make the vocals sound more upfront, I think on this kind of stuff it really needs to be right at the front of the mix.

On the verses, I'd like to hear more room ambience on the drums (maybe a more natural sound). Also I think the guitars could sound a little more upfront in places - I think they sounds good in the chorus but maybe a little "soft" in the verses.

Nice work though!

Yep thats what is bothering me too. The combination of cymbals, growls and guitars in the chorus kind of saturates the highs.

Is there vocal compression on the lady? if there isn't you should try some. I recommend Vcomp by Waves or Voxengo Voxformer

Thanks for all your input so far! I´m glad you like the song.

Is there a tambourine in the chorus?
Yes, indeed, there is.
Very metal I guess. :)

Is there vocal compression on the lady?
Sure, there is. I used the LA-2A which should be fine I guess.

I was experimenting with a little more room on the drums in the verses but I didn´t like it at first. I will give it another try I think.
I agree that the cymbals could be a little bit too bright. Maybe I´ll change it tomorrow.

Any comments on the bass?

I feel the vocals are a bit too dark. And the kick is a wee-bit weird, I agree.

Other than that, sounds really good! I liked you guys' music! :)

I don't think the vocals are all that dark. they just have some mud-shit around 200-400 region. just remove some of that shit and maybe add a few db around 6-10 khz for some brightness. the bass drum is kinda shitty. sounds like it's clipping too much or something

I did some small changes:
2nd version

What do you think?

Usually I trigger the bass drum completely but I wanted a natural sound for this production because I like the dynamic feel from our drummer. The "clipping" you mean may come from the Neve 1073 which adds some harmonic distortion. But I like it.
