really bad opening bands

Been to too many shows to count all of em but every once in awhile you'll see just udder shit for openers. Getting to the point where ill show up extra late just to not sit through shit
GOOD EXAMPLE IS DIMMU BORGIR SHOW COMING UP:I like unearth and i know they really dont fit the bill but fucking devildriver??

HATEBREED-agnostic front opened(oi oi shit,fuckin terrible band)
SOILWORK-threat signal opened
ENSLAVED-abagail williams opened
my minds like a civ today thats all i can think of myself
 
Devildriver opened when I saw Opeth too, but Moonspell was up 2nd, so I had to suffer through two god-awful bands to see Opeth, and they weren't even that worth it.

Also, when I saw Iced Earth and Evergrey, Children Of Bodom opened up for them. I don't care what people say, I can't stand Alexi or the music he plays. It's funny to me that he rips on John Petrucci and praises Steve Vai... just goes to show that wankers worship other wankers.
 
not that i shouldnt expect this, but there were some really crappy bands opening for terror/ all shall perish.

Went to katatonia show (which i dont understand why they werent headliner) and moonspell was headliner.
Didnt even stay for 1 song...they blow
As far as opeth i've seen em 10x
Nothing will top the 3hour set for hob chicago(no openers & the BEST show ive ever seen...just amazing hands down)
they started w/ forest of october and worked their way up
think they ended w/ baying of the hounds and the encore was demon of the fall(of course)
 
With Passion (opening band for Nile, Hypocrisy, Decapitated, Soilent Green, and Raging Speedhorn.)
Metalcore simple doesn't belong at a Nile Concert.


I Killed the Prom Queen (opening band for the NH&MF 06 Sunday)
The first of many Metalcore bands to play but these guys set a new low to music.


Daath (opening band for Arcacia Strain, Job for a Cowboy, Psyopus, and See You Next Tuesday)
I personally enjoy their first album but these guys were really bland sounding live. Then again, See You Next Tuesday were a vicious assault on my ears and I didn't even stay to see the headliner band Arcacia Strain.
 
I forgot most important one
Hatebreed ripoff clone...FULL BLOWN CHAOS, they suck major sack!Lead singer looks like chris farley and he just bounced his fatass all over the stage for 1/2 hour playing the same drop d monotonous riffs.AWFUL! he sent a "shout out" to his mother dying of cancer which was nice, but the song wasnt very heartfelt.
they opened for soulfly(yes they played a lot of sepultura songs)

Hmmm I really love Moonspell... so... can't really agree with that. But, I can agree that Devildriver sucks.

The worst opener I've ever seen, though, was Abigail Williams. They opened for Enslaved (who were opening for Dark Funeral... should have been the other way around) and they were just insanely horrible.

I also was disappointed when Seven Witches opened up for Kamelot two years ago. WTF. It was just a horrible set to stand through. The lead singer of Seven Witches is like Halford -- minus the good, minus the gay, and minus the leather pants. Pfffft.

def. agree w/ you. Enslaved should have headlined cause they absolutely slayed.And yes abigail sucked (sounded like metalcore w/keyboards)
