Favela of My Dismay
Let me preface this by saying, that this is a buy or die album. Christer-André Cederberg who played guitar on ITW's Strange in Stereo (which was released in the same year), parallels the spirit of SiS with the introspective inducing A New World?. Mature lead guitar soothes and sails from beginning to end, with psychedelic touches, and experimentation worthy to rival a Tila Tequila key party. There's nice variation from track to track, no pigeon-holding of a particular sound here friends. Female vocals, sparse growls, airy prog spieling, mr. robotica r2d2 effects, gurrrrrrrrgle, you name it, this album has it, and it all comes together beautifully. The three tracks below are the albums best shill offers, but the closing instrumental Improzigw is also teats and the definition of serenity. This album is better than getting your balls sucked, no joke.

THIS is the actuel best song on the album, the frailty of the vocal parts in the chorus makes me want to cradle a sick baby bird in my hands and whistle an Elton John hit single to it while it dies

not to mention

truer words have never been spoken. Also Cedebreg had another band on Prophecy Productions called Stille Oppror, which explored some more acoustic/soft territories while retaining some key traits of his very personal style.

rivawella form is a fantastic song

i find the album has some very, very high ups as well as some fairly significant downs, but the bottom line is: severely underrated

Strange In Stereo is one of my fave albums ever, so I think I will check out this rec.

btw this was one of the ten albums i got for €1 each a couple years ago when prophecy productions was having a big ol fire sale of shit they couldn't sell

which is sad, but awesome for me

this is pretty fantastic ...
is the production as muddy as on this youtube clips?

Don't even have a physical copy, I'm ashamed to admit. Need to remedy that, as there's still 1000000 discs in a warehouse somewhere. Poor promotion killed this band in it's tracks.

Ugh, not my thing at all. I never liked In The Woods either.

And to be honest I'm not really a fan of having my balls sucked.

haha I can only imagine what the post initially was. The ball sucking thing makes me relaxed and uncomfortable all at once. Focus on the shaft, the balls are optional!

I just took a shower and thought that it'll be a good idea to revisit this one in the autumn, if/when the weather cools a bit. Subscribe'd, I'll see Drawn come October! And I'll also give In The Woods... another chance, although I have tried a few times over the years. This is why I like my opinions, they can change on whim for sometimes no reason whatsoever.

ITW - Heart of the Ages is one of the greatest albums of all time bro. Buy or Die! This band can't not be ignored, or you get your RC membership revoked. I took it off the shelf last month for a good dozen spins, and to continue on with the general theme of this thread, let me just say, I was blown away.
