Recording with Guitar Rig....?

I used it, not really interesting, just like Guitar Rig, it gets all fizzy and noisy and you can't get a decent sound out of it. However, Dan Swanö claims to have used guitar rig in his latest works with Nightingale and his tone on nightingale's album is quite good.

Yeah it's pretty terrible. I've been getting better results using the freeware SimulAnalog GuitarSuite. Only problem there is that you're restricted to a JCM900 sim. Still blows GR away sideways though.

who buys it?? :p :tickled:

I know, I know; I was being facetious. :tickled:
At first, I was afraid this was going to be one of those "HAY GUYZ I JUST D/L'd TEH ILLEGL FILEZ NOW HOW DO I USE PROGRAM?" threads; luckily it seems fairly innocuous.
To add my own answer to the original question: Guitar Rig kind of sucks where Metal is concerned. Native Instruments' specialty is synthesizers, not amplifiers, so the end results tend to be, well, "synthetic". It's probably the best software amp out there next to SimulAnalog's free stuff, but it's still left in the dust by even the lowly Pod.

shit, ive goten some great sounds using the Plexi and Gratifier settings...their renditions of marshalls and the Mesa/Boogies

Hey... whatever floats your boat man... if you like it, you like it, right? as simple as that.

i would say it's pretty good from what i have tried with it so far... great cleans and nice effects overall... i have tried to dial in a good crunch, but have not succeeded so far... though never really tried, why dont you make us POD users look like fools and get a good tone out of it?

Could very well be possible.. i have tried amplitube for a year, and i really got some nice tones out of it, and heard even better tones from others... it's possible.

i got Gutiarsuite but cant seem to get the plugins installed on my computer, what should i do? the only recording program i have on there right now is ACID 4

All you gotta do is copy the .dll files to the vstplugins folder where your host (in this case Acid 4) is installed. Does Acid 4 even support vst plugs?

im not thinking so either, it says VST Intruments but i dont know, i have a copy of Cubase LE but i can install it onto my computer becuase i have windows ME and it needs 2000/XP so after a get another hard drive with some more space ill put XP on there and i'll try it then.

I'm pretty sure it does...I'm using Acid 5, and it supports VST. I'm using TC, Waves, Arturia, Moog, Korg, IK Multimedia, Native Instruments, Antares, Edirol, and a few others for effects and instruments.
