I have a song to share. Up until I was about 12, I was shamefully a total product of my environment and listened to nothing but shitty pop/r&b/rap crap. However, I saw them play this song on some award show and really enjoyed it. I then started listening to alternative/rock stations in hopes of hearing it and other stuff like it, so by the time I entered high-school I had been listening to "guitar-driven" music for a couple of years. Perhaps if I had never heard this song, and eventually Metallica, I never would have talked to and befriended Coy and none of us would know each other today. Who knows? But if nothing else, I guess I owe the Goo Goo Dolls for pulling me away from the musical cesspit of my youth.
