I was just thinking.. Wouldn't it be cool if the band had a contest in which they let the fans remix and old song? That could be an awesome way for the band to get noticed as well!

Yeah it's a cool idea, not just for SymX for that matter. But I don't think they'd do it since they probably know only a very low percentage of their fans are interested in mixing. You know, marketing and shit.

Yeah, it's cool. A lot of artists do this now, but I can't think of any bands in the genre. Lol. Although, I wish they'd do it just so that we'd get isolated tracks of a song.

Kind of like what Dream Theater did for "Black Clouds & Silver Linings"? They released a special edition collector's set that had all the root tracks for each song. They encouraged fans to make their own mixes and post them on their forum. It was interesting. Some were fantastic. Some.... not so much.

Remixes are almost always a bad idea. Almost. They always sound awful, compressed, and "updated" in a bad way.
