In the following throwback video from AXS TV (originally filmed in 2019), REO Speedwagon singer Kevin Cronin talks to journalist Dan Rather about the creation of his massive power ballad, “Can’t Fight This Feeling”.


“Can’t Fight This Feeling” first appeared on REO Speedwagon’s 1984 album Wheels Are Turnin’. The single reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and held the top spot for three consecutive weeks from March 9 to March 23, 1985. The song has since been certified Gold in Canada, The United Kingdom, and The United States.

REO Speedwagon performed “Can’t Fight This Feeling” at Live Aid in front of 100,000 people at John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia, PA on July 13, 1985.
