Repercussions for racially derogatory banter?

What would be the repercussions of saying the 6 letter synonym of negro in the workplace while you are "off" of work? Can an employer just fire someone outright for being racially prejudice? I came very closer to accidentaly typing the word in my supervisors "msn" messenger window while I was trying to reply to a friend. Big mistake, thankfully I said "WOOO wait there a minute" and didn't press send. I know it wouldn't go over well with my left wing extremist butch hair cut lesbian manager. But could I possibly be fired for such a thing? Do we have such a thing as freedom of speech in the work place? I don't think we do, but if the incident was merely accidental could you be penalized for it? :confused:

Well I'm leaving this job anyhow, this was a story from a couple months ago. Why am I bringing it up now? Well I was talking to a chum who is going to be a co-worker. He's at work, I'm at home. I say something along the lines of "yea when I went in for the physical, all the employees looked like lazy "Tiggers". He replies "woo woo calm down, this conversation is being record". I say "awww fuck"

so birkenigger finally gets banned, comes back less than 24 hours later as Auschwitz (pretty funny, actually), and you're on thin ice?! WTF?!
 
It is true though. White men got the shaft in the balance. We now can't say/do/think anything without being able to be gotten in shit for some sort of prejudice/harassment.

Well Deron banned me 3 times. Last time being a perma ban for insulting him personally. Luckily that only took effect on "Internet Explorer" and not Mozilla. I made a new name in October, and just recently asked Deron to lift the ban off my original account and merge the two. He obliged but said next time my account won't be banned, but deleted. It's all in the past though, I'm actually going camping with him and Krigloch this saturday. Though Kriggy's going more for the "larping", than the abundance of trout.

anyway, im with nate on this one. companies are usually loathe to fire someone because of the possible costs in litigation and the lost productivity. theyll have to pay alot more money to train someone else. its all political. the best thing you can do is just not say the word "my pals" at work. i actually have trouble doing this because the wife and i have a habit of calling each other "nigga". so i go to work and im like "whats up ni.....uhh...bob?"

OK so where's the double standard? Are black people calling white people "honkies" in the workplace 'cos I'm not seeing that either.
