hey everybody, next week I´m doing a deathcore band I want to do something special for the mosh-parts:

I need to know how Adam D. and other producers do this long reverse reverb of short signals like a tom hit, or one single shout

for example: Unearth - unstoppable (III: in the eyes of fire)
sick of it all - leader (death to the tyrants)
walls of jericho - i know hollywood you ain´t it
parkway drive - dead man´s chest

thanks and best regards

you take the note/lyric/whatever you want the reverse verb on, reverse it, apply reverb and print it to another track, then flip both the original track back along with the reverb

Like has been said. And, try using a longer reverb than you might originally think. Play with putting flanging/phasing on it if you want it even more weird sounding.

And be glad it's not like in the analog days of physically flipping over your 2 inch reel of tape, playing it backwards, and figuring out where all of your tracks are since everything is now upside down. Ahhh...fun times. LOL
