Back in the day, I got into Warlock with True as Steel. I liked Triumph and Agony to a lesser extent. I listened to their first two, Burning the Witches and Hellbound back then as well, but I never got into Hellbound and only had a passing interest in Burning the Witches. I recall trying a Doro solo album or two but never liking what I heard.

Today, I listened to all four albums. Old schoolers will love my conclusions.

I decided that a compilation would be best, as most of the tracks on each album are not worthwhile to me, the exception being True as Steel. I should get that CD.

Burning the Witches (1984)

After the Bomb
Burning the Witches
Dark Fade
Sign of Satan

Hellbound (1985)

Out of Control
Time to Die
Hellbound

True as Steel (1986)

Fight for Rock
True as Steel
Speed of Sound
Mr. Gold
Love in the Danger Zone (acceptable hair metal)
Vorwarts, All Right!

Triumph and Agony (1987)

Kiss of Death (acceptable hair metal)
I Rule the Ruins

Warlock - Greatest Hits, essentially.

Doro had the best voice of any female metal singer I have heard. Her Dio cover (Egypt)The Chains Are On rivaled the original. She had some good songs, but her material was sporadic to me. I would have to make a compilation as well because I can't make it through a whole disc of hers without skipping, be it Doro or Warlock. Great voice, nice on the eyes and a very nice person as well, but she needs a little better songwriting for me, personally.

I always liked what WARLOCK I have heard, and saw them once opening for Megadeth back in the day. For whatever reason I never picked up any of their stuff. I should probably change that.

"... Legendary heavy metal vocalist Doro Pesch, iconic frontwoman of Warlock and globally recognized as The Queen of Metal, has announced an exclusive VIP special event to take place on March 21 at Dingbatz in Clifton, New Jersey. The performance begins at 8 PM, with doors opening at 7 PM.

This special event celebrates the anniversary of Warlock’s True As SteelDoro Pesch’s first American record release, originally issued in the United States in 1986. The album coincided with Doro’s first-ever promotional tour of America, which began in New York, marking her initial introduction to U.S. audiences during the height of the 1980s heavy metal movement....

...The evening at Dingbatz will feature a rare, up-close, full-band acoustic performance, offering fans an intimate and powerful reinterpretation of classic Warlock material and fan favorites from this pivotal era as well as new material.

Doro Pesch says:
True As Steel is very special to me because it was my first American record and the first time I came to the United States, starting in New York. I fell in love with America immediately — the people, the energy, the metal fans. That experience led directly to Triumph and Agony and ‘All We Are.’ I can’t wait to celebrate this music in such a personal way and spend time with the fans in New Jersey. This will be a night from the heart.
