My guitar tracks always seem to sound "out" of the mix as if they don't belong in there. It's kind of hard to explain but it's like they have too much space and they're not working with the rest of the mix. I tend to record 3 tracks, 1 panned 100% left, 1 panned 100% right and 1 in the center with the volume taken off slightly. I know the whole point of mixing is the make the whole track mix well together but i can't seem to do guitars right. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it?

Do you mean like rhythm or lead? All 3 of them are all rhythm guitar tracks and pretty much play the same thing (unless i'm using harmonizing)

i would get rid of the guitar in the centre, you will have enough things going on there, e.g. kick, snare, bass, vocals, lead, synth

an example of your recording would also be helpful

try getting rid of the center track and just using the bass to fill in the sound

or record one more guitar so you have 4 tracks and pan 2 100% L&R and the other 2 panned 80% L&R

see if that helps
