James Hetfield, co-founder, rythym guitarist, lyric writer, and lead vocalist of Metallica is officially the richest man in the history of rock/metal with a personal fortune of $1,400,000,000 ( 1.4 billion US dollars). Congratulations James!PS: Not all his money is from Metallica. He's had plenty of non-metal related side projects. I guess the endorsements of the Dominican Fuente Hemingway Cigars got him plenty of money as well.

Britain's heavy metal billionaire......

Metals magnate Lakshmi Mittal has a keen eye for a bargain.

Combined with his razor-sharp understanding of the steel market, it has enabled him to emerge from virtual anonymity as the industry's undisputed number one player.

He established the foundations of his fortune over the past two decades by doing much of his business in the steel industry equivalent of a discount warehouse - buying the unwanted assets of other steel groups or snapping up worn out state-owned plants.

Oh wait thats the other Metal!!!!!

LOL!!!!

Well, you can't say he didn't earn in. Despite some departures in their sound over the last 10 years, the dude truly does kick ass. I still say that even though these new metal-core screamo guys try to sound pissed off, Hetfield was the only guy who legitimately WAS pissed off to the point you could feel it on those old records. Especially the old live recordings like the Seattle show from Binge and Purge. Now that is what I call intensity.

I'm not questioning the man's talent, just his income. I don't see how he can be worth over a billion. How much is Paul McCartney worth? How much is Mick Jagger worth? These guys have been at the top of the music world since the early 60's, and should be worth more than Mr. Hetfield.
Also, how much is Lars Ulrich worth? (money wise, no comments from the peanut gallery, please! )

ACTUALLY, if he was hooked up with a good finance guy, there has been so many get rich quick stocks in the past 20 years that it's very possible.

Considering he had a mullet going I would guess it wasn't expensive beer.

this concert brought to you by....
natty light ! the beer of hillrods , mullet wearers and beat up baseball cap guys .
make it a redneck night, make mine a natty light !!!! :kickass: :kickass:

Back in the 80s I used to see Natty Light in 6 packs of bottles before the whole cheap twelver of Natty was pushed. Busch is a better cheap Anheuser-Busch product anyway.
