Ricky Williams was reinstated by the NFL on Wednesday after being suspended for more than 18 months for violating the league's drug policy for the fourth time.

The 30-year-old running back, who has played in only 12 games since the start of the 2004 season, played in the Canadian Football League last season and applied for reinstatement to the NFL on Oct. 1. He tested positive again for marijuana in April, delaying his reinstatement through the first half of this season.

The league said Williams can begin attending team meetings and practicing immediately, but will not be able to play in a game until Miami plays at Pittsburgh on Monday night, Nov. 26. Meanwhile, the team will have a roster exemption for up to two weeks when he starts practicing. The 0-9 Dolphins, however, are clearly heading into rebuilding mode and it's not entirely clear how Williams would fit into their long-term plans. .moreTeamsDiv { position:relative; float:right; padding-right:10px;}.moreTeamsHdr { background-image:url(/fe/img/Story/moreTeamsOn_header.gif); background-repeat:repeat-x; background-position:top; height:35px; color:#000000; font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; padding-top:4px; padding-left:4px; font-weight:bold;}.moreTeamsLinks a:link, .moreTeamsLinks a:visited { color:#1266a4; text-decoration:none; padding-top:4px; padding-left:4px; padding-right:4px; padding-bottom:4px;}.moreTeamsLinks a:hover { text-decoration:underline;}.moreTeamLinks { font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-decoration:none;}.storyPoll { padding-bottom: 5px; float:right;}

Miami head coach Cam Cameron met with the Dolphins on Wednesday, informing the team that Williams had been reinstated, sources told FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer. But Cameron told the team he has not made a decision on whether to Williams would be allowed back on the team, and that he would not make the call until speaking to Williams personally, a source said.
Williams rushed for 3,225 yards in the 2002 and 2003 seasons after being traded to the Dolphins from New Orleans. He then retired in 2004, traveling in India and Australia before returning to the Dolphins in 2005, when he ran for 743 yards alternating with rookie Ronnie Brown. Brown is currently on injured reserve, leaving Miami short on running backs.

Some comments on espn radio today said that they might trade him to Green Bay, well rumors have started anyway.

I heard that too.. Denver was also mentioned. Green Bay seems to be the most realistic since they let Green sign with the Texans they have no running game at all.. The only catch I heard was that the Dolphins might want Donald Driver and a 2nd round draft pick and the commentators thought that might be a bit too pricey for a player who can't stop getting high long enough to play a full season.

On a totally unrelated note..... 16-0 New England Patriots!!

It's going to happen!!!!! The only thing that would make it sweeter would be if the Dolphins finish 0-16 at the same time..
